BBQ Pulled Pork

Tender and flavorful slow-cooked pulled pork with a tangy BBQ sauce.
Ingredients:
- pork shoulder - 1.8 kilograms (4 pounds)
- onion, diced - 1 onion (1 onion)
- garlic cloves, minced - 4 cloves (4 cloves)
- BBQ sauce - 480 milliliters (2 cups)
- apple cider vinegar - 60 milliliters (0.25 cup)
- brown sugar - 25 grams (2 tablespoons)
- smoked paprika - 7 grams (1 tablespoon)
- cumin - 2 grams (1 teaspoon)
- salt - 5 grams (1 teaspoon)
- black pepper - 1.5 grams (0.5 teaspoon)
Instructions:
- Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix together the diced onion, minced garlic, BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the pork shoulder, making sure it is evenly coated.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks, discarding any excess fat.
- Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix it with the remaining sauce.
- Serve the pulled pork on burger buns, tacos, or alongside coleslaw and baked beans.
Notes:
For a spicier version, add a diced jalapeño or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the sauce mixture.
