A quick and easy beef stir-fry with colorful vegetables and a savory sauce.

Ingredients:

  • flank steak - 450 grams (1 pound)
  • broccoli florets - 480 grams (2 cups)
  • sliced bell peppers - 120 grams (1 cup)
  • sliced carrots - 120 grams (1 cup)
  • sliced onion - 1 onion (1 onion)
  • minced garlic - 2 cloves (2 cloves)
  • soy sauce - 60 milliliters (0.25 cup)
  • cornstarch - 7.5 grams (1 tablespoon)
  • water - 60 milliliters (0.25 cup)
  • vegetable oil - 30 milliliters (2 tablespoons)

Instructions:

  1. Slice the flank steak against the grain into thin strips.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, cornstarch, and water. Set aside.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the sliced beef to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, or until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the broccoli, bell peppers, carrots, onion, and garlic. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables are crisp-tender.
  6. Return the beef to the skillet and pour in the soy sauce mixture. Stir-fry for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the beef is cooked through.
  7. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
