A rich and creamy sauce made with butter, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients:

  • unsalted butter - 115 grams (0.5 cup)
  • heavy cream - 240 milliliters (1 cup)
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 100 grams (1 cup)
  • garlic cloves, minced - 2 cloves (2 cloves)
  • salt - 2.5 grams (0.5 teaspoon)
  • black pepper - 1 gram (0.25 teaspoon)

Instructions:

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and add the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
  5. Whisk the sauce until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth.
  6. Simmer the sauce for 5-7 minutes, or until it has thickened to your desired consistency.
  7. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  8. Serve the Alfredo sauce over your favorite pasta or use it as a dipping sauce.

Notes:

For a lighter version, you can substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream.
