Creamy Alfredo Sauce

A rich and creamy sauce made with butter, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese.
Ingredients:
- unsalted butter - 115 grams (0.5 cup)
- heavy cream - 240 milliliters (1 cup)
- grated Parmesan cheese - 100 grams (1 cup)
- garlic cloves, minced - 2 cloves (2 cloves)
- salt - 2.5 grams (0.5 teaspoon)
- black pepper - 1 gram (0.25 teaspoon)
Instructions:
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Reduce the heat to low and add the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
- Whisk the sauce until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Simmer the sauce for 5-7 minutes, or until it has thickened to your desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
- Serve the Alfredo sauce over your favorite pasta or use it as a dipping sauce.
Notes:
For a lighter version, you can substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream.
