Pesto Sauce

A vibrant and flavorful sauce made with fresh basil, garlic, pine nuts, and Parmesan cheese.
Ingredients:
- fresh basil leaves - 50 grams (2 cups)
- garlic cloves - 2 cloves (2 cloves)
- pine nuts - 30 grams (0.25 cup)
- grated Parmesan cheese - 50 grams (0.5 cup)
- extra-virgin olive oil - 120 milliliters (0.5 cup)
- salt - 1.5 grams (0.25 teaspoon)
- black pepper - 0.5 gram (0.125 teaspoon)
Instructions:
- In a food processor or blender, combine the basil leaves, garlic cloves, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
- Pulse the ingredients until they are finely chopped and well combined.
- With the food processor running, slowly pour in the olive oil through the feed tube.
- Process the mixture until it forms a smooth and creamy sauce.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
- Use the pesto sauce immediately or store it in the refrigerator with a thin layer of olive oil on top to prevent oxidation.
Notes:
You can also use walnuts or almonds instead of pine nuts for a different flavor profile.
